8th Annual MENDing Poverty Conference
Please join us for the eighth annual MENDing Poverty Conference on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The conference theme is a timely one: “Income Inequality: Challenges and Opportunities for the Nonprofit Sector.” The conference brings together nonprofit executives, funders and community leaders from throughout Los Angeles – to network and hear great speakers focused on improving services for people living in poverty.
Opening keynote speaker will be Robert Kleinhenz, PhD, Chief Economist for the LA County Economic Development Corporation.
Wendy Garen, President and CEO of The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation, will deliver an opening welcome.
The luncheon keynote speaker will be Adam Gamoran, PhD, President of the W.T. Grant Foundation—a funder of NPR, and a national leader in supporting research on income inequality.
This year’s event will include concurrent workshops, each with an outstanding panel of speakers, on three key issues:
- Income Inequality and Health
- LA:RISE – Fresh, Integrated Approach to Workforce Development
- Job Training Policy and Inequality Among the Working Poor
Registration fee, including breakfast and lunch, is $89 through June 7 and $109 thereafter.
