Volunteer Appreciation Dinner 2016
On April 16th, MEND hosted its annual volunteer appreciation dinner. The event, titled “The Not-So-Late Show starring the Menders,” wrapped up National Volunteer Week with a “Late Show” theme that included a monologue, special guest interviews conducted by our host and comedian, Jim Coughlin, and good-humored commercial skits performed by MEND staff.
Awards presented at the event included the Business Partner in MENDing Poverty Award to Bank of America, and the Community Partner in MENDing Poverty Award to St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. MEND staff also recognized volunteers from each department for their commitment to MEND’s mission and their dedication to our community.
The evening concluded with the presentation of MEND’s Overall Volunteer of the Year 2015 to longtime volunteer David Jimenez. His emotional acceptance and recognition was a wonderful way to end our night! View photos from our volunteer celebration here.
