The volunteers at MEND are the lifeblood of the agency. MEND is committed to remaining a volunteer-driven organization, so that its donations and income go directly to the needy recipients. As a result, administrative and fundraising costs are less than 6% of MEND’s total revenue. This is possible only through the assistance of the dedicated volunteers who give so freely of themselves to MEND.
Begin the registration process by filling out a Long-term, Short-term, or Group Volunteer Application.
Individuals requiring assistance with applications may visit our MEND Center during business hours. Court referred volunteers may visit us on Fridays, between 9AM-11AM to fill out our online application.
Upon successfully submitting application, a confirmation message including username and password, and sign up instructions for orientations, activities, and events will be sent by email.
Long-term volunteers often receive in depth training and therefore are required to attend orientation with a longer time commitment. Short-term volunteers do not require an orientation but may choose to attend to learn more about MEND and/or become a Long-term Volunteer.
Children between the ages 11-14 must be accompanied by a volunteering adult, parent or guardian on the day of volunteer event or activity. Teens age 15 and older may volunteer on their own.
