Clothing Donations Accepted

MEND is collecting new and gently used clothing, baby gear and other household goods to help meet the needs of low income families and individuals in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. In 2013, your donations helped us meet the basic clothing needs of over 168,000 client encounters. With your help, we can continue making a difference by providing clothing for school, job search, employment and special events.

Types of Donations Accepted

MEND accepts ALL new and gently used clothing. Please help us by donating the following most needed items:

  • Men’s casual clothing
  • Men’s, Women’s and Children’s tennis shoes

We also accept the following types of donations:

  • Housewares and small household items
  • All kitchen, cooking and serving-ware items
  • Small electric appliances (blenders, toasters, etc.)
  • All linens for beds and windows
  • Towels
  • Lamps, artwork, frames
  • TVs (flat screen only)
  • Fans, heaters, vacuum cleaners
  • Umbrellas
  • Baby Gear
  • Single and Double strollers
  • High chair / Walkers
  • New car seats / Playpens
  • Bassinets (Cribs are not accepted)
  • Assistive Equipment
  • Electronic and Manual Wheelchairs

How to Donate Clothing

You may drop off donations in the clothing donation receiving area located in the MEND Center parking lot.

 

Donations will be accepted:

 

  • Tuesday – Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Saturday: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Furniture Matching Program

 

Through our Furniture-Matching Program we may be able to connect donors with a MEND family in need of beds, refrigerators, or stoves. Please note that we are only able to accept the furniture items listed on this page.
