MEND's Pathways to Wellness program addresses chronic health issues of the people we serve.
The goal of the Pathways to Wellness is to develop habits that lead a healthier lifestyle and passing those habits on to their children.
Our team works individually to meet with participants to understand their health conditions and provide coaching to adapt healthier lifestyle changes.
Every Tuesday and Friday, particpants can exercise by joining the walking group. By exercising with other people on the same health journey, it empowers our participants to make exercising a part of their routine.
Making healthy meals can be hard and overwhelming which is why the Pathways to Wellness program offers cooking demonstrations. During the session, we share how to make recipe staples in the Latino community healthier by swapping ingredients such as rice for quinoa.
The Little Health Market provides healthy items our participants can select for their food bag. From healthy proteins such as ground turkey and fish to whole grain pastas and quinoa, our market helps make cooking healthy meals easier.
Learning about your health takes a lot of time and resources. Our workshops review different topics such as regulating bloog sugar, ways to lower cholestorol, shopping healthy on a budget, and much more.
