50 Years of Stories- Maricela

Maricela first came to MEND for food and clothing assistance after her and her husband lost their jobs. After 2 years, her family became financially stable enough to no longer need to visit our food bank. Sadly, her husband passed away a few months later and Maricela needed to find a way to support her family while maneuvering life without her beloved partner. With the help of the Family Support Program, Maricela received individualized, supportive coaching and resources. “MEND has been a life saver. My family could not carry on without their supportive services. We’re still standing because of MEND,” she shared.
