October 5, 2026

Ed and Carolyn Rose were honored with a square dedication outside MEND's headquarters in Pacoima by LA City Councilmember Monica Rodriguez.

Their home became a focal point where people heard they could be helped and others who wanted to join them gathered to volunteer.

They decided to call their group MEND – Meeting Each Need with Dignity, and formally established themselves as a nonprofit in 1976. San Fernando Sun
